Artcore and Sahahra- A culture of care, are working in partnership on the project Creative Treats at Sweet Meet. A community project inviting the local community of Arboretum and
Normanton to get involved in being creative.

The project aims to provide an opportunity to:
• Learn new skills and traditional craft techniques such as
Mosaics, Rangoli, Lipan art, Clay and more
• Make new friends over a cup of tea
• Learn photography using cameras or smart phones to capture
• Create a map of the area using dierent artistic techniques
(family activities)
• Join in to celebrate dierent festivals together
• Treat yourself or create a gift for your loved ones


On the 9th of October, the third session of this project was held at the Sahahra Centre in the Arboretum Park. The participants painted on canvas and created beautiful artworks as they got to know one another.

The next session for this project was delivered on the 2nd October. Partcipants finished off their previous works and began creating paintings.


On the 25th September , the first of the ‘Creative Treats @ Sweet Meet sessions began with celebrations for Eid. Participants got stuck into some creative crafts, having the opportunity to make some jewellery and do some block printing.

Participants then enjoyed some sweet treats as a part of the Eid celebrations.
