The project aims to engage different generations by working together through creative arts. It is designed to atteract diverse ethnicities, share values and convey culture.
WORKING TOGETHER WITH:
Community centres, groups and young people, youth groups, schools, sheltered housing, 50+ groups, residential homes, coffee morning clubs etc. in the Abbey Ward in Derby.
The project is in 3 phases, commencing from the end of February 2013.
The different mediums will include collage, pottery, mosaic, jewellery making, fabric painting and sand casting.
-Phase 1 – Youth Activity: 6 workshops in 6 mediums
-Phase 2 – 50+ Activity: 6 workshops in 6 mediums
-Phase 3 – Family Activity: 6 workshops in 6 mediums
Each session will involve 10-15 participants, 2 volunteers and 1 sessional worker/artist. Participants attending the workshops will be learning new skills, building new relationships and enhancing their life skills. They will explore new mediums and techniques. Every participant will create their own artwork in different mediums to take back home with them.
Towards the end of the project all the participants will meet and celebrate their learning and achievements together.
