Torch Relay Activities -June 2012

Let’s get ready for the Olympics! Come and get into the spirit of things with Artcore, where we will be making our own Olympic torches in preparation for the Torch Relay weekend (on the 29th June) and making bunting to decorate your homes during the celebrations. These are free events so bring friends and family

Draycott Festival -May 2012

Participants enjoyed working with traditional carved wooden blocks from India. They created prints using wooden blocks of different patterns and shapes and printing on to a fabric. They also used sequins and mirrors to add the final decoration.Over the two days we worked with about 150 participants of all ages and abilities.

Claybook Sculpture -May2011

As part of Children’s week celebrations at Wollaton Hall on 29th May, participants could sculpt a book or create casts of books in clay. There were moulds of various sizes available to choose from to create a sculpture. They could decorate them with colours and paints and have a finished piece to take back home

Riverside Festival -August 2011

Nottingham Riverside Festival is a very popular annual event with approximately 10,000 visitors each year. Artcore delivered a variety of workshops in the children’s area including Rangoli, Warli and Lipan art. Handz On Wheelz -June 2011

Handz on Wheelz enabled participants from the community to take part and experiment with a variety of different clay techniques, and designing and creating their own pots. This project also involved tours to Royal Crown Derby, talks and demonstrations by local and national Ceramic Practitioners, presentations and knowledge of materials and also learning the techniques

Healing Community Fair -April 2011

Activities at Healing Communities Fair – April 2011 The Healing Communities initiative aims at bringing communities together in Derby, to promote health, wellbeing and a cohesive culture of shared responsible community. Artcore delivered art and craft activities of Clay sessions, Henna art and Mosaics, at the two Healing Communities Events at Butterfly House.
