Artcore are delighted to become one of Arts Council England’s new National Portfolio Organisation. It’s fantastic news both for us as an organisation and for the artistic diversity of Derby and the East Midlands. This recognition is the realisation of almost a decade of working in the arts and the community within the region. Our journey has involved taking one step at a time, steadily progressing and developing, supporting and supported by many different organisations and people.
This funding will maintain our mission to provide opportunities to local and regional artists and to deliver a varied programme of art to disadvantaged communities. This artistic programme will promote health, wellbeing, education and learning in the community, and will be delivered through exhibitions, residency programmes and the development of local, national and international partnerships we find so integral to our working. Partnerships have been a fundamental strength to Artcore, particularly working with our colleagues at Deda and Derby Museums and we look forward to this continuing and working with many other organisations over the coming years including Derby’s other NPOs.
We are thrilled to receive funding that will allow us to continue to develop and deliver exciting contemporary art programmes. This award will help us design innovative and productive projects with both emerging and established artists, offering everyone from the East Midlands an appreciation of art and the benefits it brings.
Becoming an NPO will enable Artcore to access additional resources, assisting in the development and management of our projects & supporting us to continue to deliver successful outputs & outcomes. It will also assist us support the profuse hidden artistic talent that is always looking for a channel to share their skills and vision.
