/ / St Thomas Church

On the morning of the 16th October, the hoardings for the St Thomas Church on Pear Tree Road were installed.

The designs were based on ideas given by the community through consultation workshops.

A big thank you to Akshata Naik for helping us develop the designs.

The boards look amazing now they have been installed, thank you to all of the staff and volunteers for helping the process.

The St Thomas Church renovation project consultations have now been completed. This project involves looking at the past, present and future of the St Thomas Church.

Community workshops were held to consult the public on what designs they would like to see on the hoardings during the renovation period.

The designs have now been drafted from the ideas the community put forward and are being recreated onto boards by Artcore.

The boards are to be installed on the 16th October at the St Thomas Church on Peartree Road.

The theme of the decoration regards the past, present and future of the church.

The first of these sessions was a consultation session on 20th July 2015.

At 1pm, Artcore moved across to the new Pear Tree Canopy to deliver a consultation session for the renovation of St Thomas Church until 3pm.

The session used the medium of drawing, with participants having card which they could create designs on. Pens, mirrors and glue and pictures of stain glass for inspiration were available for participants. During this session, Artcore displayed a scale cut-out of the church where participants could attach their designs based around the past, present and future of the church.

The designs created through this consultation session will be incorporated into the decoration of the hoardings throughout the renovation period.
