Artcore’s project, The Web of Water incorporates the medium of visual art both locally and internationally, presenting the different historical, cultural and traditional attitudes towards the concept of water. Alongside the cultural and historical aspects of the project, a more serious message is also explored, using artistic mediums to express the social, political and environmental impacts the misuse of water within modern day society.
On the 27th of September 2014 as part of the Derby Feste celebrations, the project outcomes of The Web of Water were showcased through Art exhibitions by professional artists, ‘Children and Water’ artworks created by children and a short film, encompassing the activities within the heritage section of the project. The Deputy Mayor of Derby Cllr. Paul Pegg was amongst the special guest at the event towards. All stake holders of the project were invited to celebrate its success and achievements.
