On the 31st of May 2014 as part of the web of water project, Artcore visited Carsington Water with members from the local community in Derby. Carsington Water is a water reservoir site run by Severn Trent Water.
The members also attended the launch of the artists’ exhibition for the Web of Water. Other visitors at Carsington Water were also invited to the view the art exhibition.
Participants enjoyed the venue as there was something for all to enjoy and learn from. Some of the feedback received was ‘Enjoyed The trip’, ‘very informative about recycling water’, ‘I really enjoyed the Art Exhibition, was very well organised and an informative day’.
There was also time allocated for participants from the trip to view the interactive exhibits where they got to know about what happens to water once it goes down the drain and how water is reused/ recycled. They also took a tour around the lake, see some wildlife, including baby sheep, ducks, geese and birds. Amongst the members there were adults and children of all ages and from diverse backgrounds.
People on the trip had an amazing day, and they found it very informative, learning about the heritage of water and how to use water more efficiently.
We’d like to thank everyone who came along, the staff at Artcore and Severn Trent Water for an informative and wonderful trip.
